Update From Target Regarding Data Breach

Target announced that certain guest information was also removed from their systems, in addition to debit card and pin numbers,  during the compromise time frame of November 27 through December 15, 2013. This information includes names, mailing addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses for up to 70 millions customers.

"Phishing" Education:  Although this consumer data is not card related, we anticipate an increase in phishing scams. Phishing refers to the criminal activity that attempts to fraudulantly obtain sensitive information, such as social security number, driver's license, credit card information, or bank account information. Sometimes a scam artist will first send a benign email and then follow that up with a phishing email that usually contains a malicious link. Cyber-criminals have typically used emails to launch this type of attack, but with the widespread use of social media networks and smartphones with internet access, the atype of attacks are multiplying.

Tips: Do not respond to any email that directs you to update your personal information by dialing a telephone number. Only use the customer service number on the back of your card. If a phishing email references a telephone number that you suspect to be related to a VoIP(voice over internet protocol) scam, please report the number to your local federal law enforcement agency.

Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) Policy - Regulation GG

The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (effective June 1, 2010) implemented regulations which prohibit commercial/business members from receiving deposits or other credits of any kind relating to their operation of an illegal Internet gambling business.  Compass Savings Bank is required to enforce that prohibition.

It is Compass Savings Bank's policy to not open or maintain any account for commercial/business members held with the intent to conduct or engage in Internet gambling activity, whether legal or illegal.  If the Bank discovers or determines that an existing commercial member transacts or engages in Internet gambling activity as defined by the UIGEA, the Bank reserves the right to restrict services or terminate the account relationship.
